Our offices are located on the ground floor of the Army Medical Directorate in the Former Army Staff College Camberley. Please feel free to call in if you are in the area, Serving or Retired, Officers and Soldiers, all are welcome.
Although not co-located with RHQ, the AMS Museum is very much part of us and we work closely together. I am delighted to say that Captain Peter Starling is now the AMS Museum Director in recognition of his extended role of military medical historian.
The AMS (V) Band, are now part of 2 Medical Brigade in York but they are located here at Camberley under the direction of WO1 Bob Ghigi. Their Non Regular Permanent Staff Officer (NRPS) is WO2 Marcus Gibbons.
After closure of over two years, because of water damage, I am delighted to say that the Medal Room has now reopened and all the paintings have been reframed and the tables refurbished. We have had to have the room reassessed for insurance purposes which means that the use of this room will be restricted for private bookings. It will of course continue to be widely available for the purpose for which it was intended i.e. to view the medals of our heroes.
It has been a real pleasure to have been your Regimental Secretary this past year and I have enjoyed meeting you at the many social events. Despite what we read and hear about the erosion of Corps ethos and Service Identity I can bear witness that it is alive and well and thriving.
Thank you for your trust in me and your belief in our Corps.
